ProLiant ML115 G5 - nVidia MediaShield BIOS
I have 2 Seagate 500Gb SATA disks & the system can see both ok.
I have enabled RAID in the BIOS.
I have entered the Array setup (F8 on boot up) and can set up the RAID1 array using the two disks.
However, the problem is that I do not get the option to set the array as BOOTABLE. The option to do this is "greyed out".
Is this normal? I could go ahead and install my OS, but don't see how I can reboot if the system can only see the DVD or USB as bootable devices.
When I re-enter the BIOS setup (F10 on boot) this is indeed the case. The RAID device is not in the list of bootable devices.
Are the disks too big ? Is it possible to upgrade the nVidia firmware ?
Current HP BIOS rev is 5/26/2008, which appears top be up to date.
Any other ideas ?
Thanks

Re: ProLiant ML115 G5 - nVidia MediaShield BIOS
I have looked at the BIOS revisions and it appears that the last RAID fix was on the revision that I already have (5/26/08).
It wouldn't hurt to upgrade, I suppose. Presumably I have to upgrade the management firmware to 3.11 first ?
