ProLiant ML150 G3 8GB Memory Detection
Hello,
I have installed 4 x 2 GB of HP 397413-B21 RAM chips, but the BIOS (latest version) and Windows 2008 x64 and VMware ESX 3.5 detect only 6141 MB. However, HP Diagnostic CD repoerts 4 x 2GB during hardware tests.
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Re: ProLiant ML150 G3 8GB Memory Detection
Hi,
check page 62
http://bizsupport.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00714207/c00714207.pdf
use component 22 to clear CMOS.
Also try with 2 modules in slot 1&3 , then take them out and try the other 2 memory modules...
Regards

Re: ProLiant ML150 G3 8GB Memory Detection
Thank you for your response.
Once I removed the four memory chips (purchased just recently) I discovered that despite all being labaled with the same HP number, one pair is "refurbished" and on its own ProLiant ML150 detects it only as 2 x 1GB, not 2 x 4GB (checked it in slots 1-3 and 2-4 with the same results)
It looks like I will need to return the pair to the dealer.
Cheers adn thanks again.
