ProLiant ML150 G6, 2nd CPU
Hi, I upgraded our HP ProLiant ML150 G6 with a 2nd CPU.
When the server is booted up it picks up the 2nd CPU and the additional RAM, but then I get the following error:
"Fan or inlet ambient sensor detect fialed and prepare to shutdown"
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: ProLiant ML150 G6, 2nd CPU
hi wesley,
I think the additional processor is causing too much heat in this system. It can only operate at temperatures of 50├В┬░ to 95├В┬░ F (10├В┬░ to 35├В┬░ C).
I advise installing the optional fan kit, HP part number 513927-B21. Here is a link to the product:

good luck, if you appreciate the answers we appreciate the points!

Re: ProLiant ML150 G6, 2nd CPU
Thanks for the reply WFH-WI.
I have concluded that the error message was shown because the System Fan1 was absent. I only had the System Fan3 and the exhaust fan installed and apparently when installing the 2nd CPU it requires the additional fan.
I have placed an order for part 519737-001 which is hopefully the correct fan and would sort out this issue.
Regards,
Wesley

Re: ProLiant ML150 G6, 2nd CPU
Just to give a quick update.
I have received the System Fan 1 (PN 519737-001). After installing it the server booted up fine and everything is working 100%.
