ProLiant ML310 G4 Debian 4.0 Raid Driver

I have some problem installing Debian 4.0 over the HP Proliant.
I set the Array of 2 HD in the started BIOS (RAID 1).
Are there Sata Raid Driver for Debian 4.0 available ?

ML310 G4 (SATA) supports Debian 4.0 (Etch), but there's a note saying:

At this time HP does not provide software RAID drivers for Debian.

- Novell SUSE
- Debian/GNU Linux
- Oracle Enterprise Linux

As far as I know the SATA-only version of the ML310G4 doesn't have a real RAID controller. No matter what you install you'll only get software RAID, just like you'd get if you bought a $20 PCI card at a mass-market retail outlet. If you're using software RAID anyway the Linux-native md is likely to be as good as (sometimes better than) vendor-supplied drivers. However, it is more complicated to configure.

Drivers to use the RAID function on that system are only available for Red Hat and SuSE. As an alternative you can load Centos and use the Red Hat driver.

Thanks to everyboby for your answers.
Now I have a more clear view of the issue!

I have to use Debian, and I have to do a backup copy of the entire disk from time to time.. so in case of a disk failure i can use the backup copy of that disk..
So I leave the two disks separate.. without RAID.. and i'll do a backup from time to time!! (is there a fast way to do a backup (or mirror) copy of an entire disk ..from disk 1 to disk two !??! )
