ProLiant ML330 G3

This server was running raid1. In SCSI slot 1 it showed a bad drive so I reseated the HD and everything seems to be operating normally. However, when viewing the drive in System Management the drive isn't showing any sectors written. In Array Configuration Utility it does not detect any supported controllers. The SCSI controller is ASC-29160i which I can't find much information on reapplying the raid1... Anyone have some thoughts? I tried the F8 stuff but all I could do from boot was change the ID or enable/disable something... Not much help.

I'm having trouble... How do I find ORCA?

From all the documentation I've read it says to press F8 (during bootup) which I've tried but there's really no options that I can use.

Isn't there a way to rebuild the RAID w/o having to reinstall the OS? This server has been running for a few years...

See chapter 3 in the guide link I posted. F9 should get you into the RBSU. If the server was setup with SmartStart then you should be able to get to the utilities. If it wasn't then see page 49 in this manual:

After this it only allows me to change the ID or change the initialization from enable to disable...

Don't hit F8 there, wait until you see the *F9* prompt. Do you get an F9 prompt later in the POST sequence?

Yes.

But there is no F8 selection later on...

F9 - ROM Based Setup Utility
F10 - System Maintenance
F12 - PXE Boot

Hit F9 to get into RBSU and ORCA.

I have hit F9 but I don't see anything about ORCA in there...

Am I missing something?

If you are not sure how the server is configured, use the F10 key. Use the INSPECT feature in RBSU to see how your server is configured, the array s/b listed. Use the RBSU guide that I posted earlier for reference on page 39.

There should be an 'Array Configuration Info' tab.
