ProLiant ML330 G3

I need a soundcard to a ProLiant ML330 G3 server, running Windos 2003 with Terminal service, to get the sound out to the teminals. Unfortunately the only soundcards I have been able to find is with pci 32 interface and the Proliant only got PCI 64 interface

Kind regards

Re: ProLiant ML330 G3

You should be able to use a PCI 32 card that has a 3.3v setup.

I'm no PCI expert, but I've been told some of the older PCI cards were 5.0 volt cards. Hardware manufacturers added a new notch to prevent those from being used in newer motherboards that are not designed to be backward compatible from a voltage standpoint.

Basically, if it has the second notch in the card (i.e. it fits in the 64 bit slot) you should be able to use it.

In my case I had to find parallel port cards that supported this situation for some of the DL 380 G3 servers we have. I ordered PCI 2.1 standard cards from SIIG that had the second notch. Worked like a charm. Same drivers worked fine.

Good luck.

I found another solution, I use a Creative USB-soundcard (creative labs soundblaster mp3), and it seems to work fine :-)
