[ ProLiant ML350 G4 ] Which memory module do i need?

Hi there,

My ProLiant ML350 G4 server gives the following notice: "Corrected Memory Error threshold exceeded (System Memory, Memory Module 1)".

So i need to replace this module. Which module do I need? Just to make sure. PC2700 DDR RAM?

We now have 1GB, but if i need to buy new RAM i'd better buy 3GB (32bit).

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

The supported types of DIMMs are listed in the quickspecs:

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12009_na/12009_na.html#Memory

But, you have a "corrected memory error" - which means the ECC managed to work around the error. If you only see this once or twice, it's not the end of the world, but probably a good idea to replace it anyway..

About the DIMMs you need (from quickspecs):

All ML350 G4 models ship with Advanced ECC** PC2700 DDR SDRAM (running at 333 MHz).

The HP ProLiant ML350 G4 requires memory interleaving when more than one DIMM is installed. For interleaving, DIMMs must be populated in identical pairs. The system will not boot properly if multiple DIMMs of varying density or type are installed in the system.

If you want to be on the safe side, take out the DIMM physically and read the details from it.
