Now we have installed two 18.2GB and two 36GB Harddrives.
Are there any limitations for the existing "old fashioned" SA431 Raid-Controller.
I´m sure that we can´t use the full speed of the new U320 SCSI-drives.
Is it possible to install 72GB, 146GB or 300GB SCSI-drives ?
Thanks for quick response.
Kind regards
Tom

Re: ProLiant ML350G1 with SA431 - new U320 SCSI HD´s
As for the 146 or 300 gb drives, I can't say Yes to that. They will likely work but it's not an HP "tested" option for this controller. The largest drive I see supported for this controller is a 72gb.
232432-B22 - 72.8-GB Wide Ultra3 SCSI 10,000 rpm Drive (1")
Hope this helps

Re: ProLiant ML350G1 with SA431 - new U320 SCSI HD´s
We use 146 Gb U320 SCSI drives on old Proliant 1600 with SmartArray 221 controller - without any problem. And SmartArray 431 is next generation of SmartArray 221. I am pretty sure you can use 146 Gb or 300 Gb drives on your SA431 as well.
Just QuickSpecs of SA431 was not updated when new drives released :-)

Re: ProLiant ML350G1 with SA431 - new U320 SCSI HD´s
232432-B22 is not longer available.
The 332751-B21 seems to be the new compatible model.
Thanks for your help
Tom
