ProLiant servicepack 201903 - create bootable USB stick

Hi folks,

When updating my HP ProLiant servers, I use to download the servicepack ISO file to a Linux machine, then I run isohybrid on the ISO image, and finally copy the modified image to a USB stick.

To my chagrin, this did not work on the latest servicepack (201903).

Is there somebody who knows how to get around this problem?

I just hate to chase around for some double layer DVD media and burn the image. It's like trying to purchase a brand new 2010 model car.

Best regards,

Pete

Why not use the included USB creator tool?

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: ProLiant servicepack 201903 - create bootable USB stick

Hi Torsten,

Thanks for your suggestion.

Maybe because I'm not working with Windoze? At least, the solution you suggested works. Though I'm not very happy with it. It's not difficult, but a completely avoidable hazzle.

Removing the possibility to easily dump the service pack image to a USB-key, is a significant step backwards. I cannot imagine anybody burning a double layer DVD from the service pack ISO.

A suggestion to HP: please deliver the service pack images in a format that can be dumped to a USB-key directly, either from Windows, or from Linux., and everybody will be happy.

Best regards,

Peter

Hi,

You can try downloading Rufus :).
