Re: Problem with NAS DL380 G5 Storage server

Hi,

You can order a replacement rebuild DVD from HP (Free of charge)for your system. This will restore the system back to its original configuration but may wipe any additional data areas you have created (It depends on the NAS setup for the DL380 G5).

http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductsList.do?category=NAS

The "Do Not Delete" partition normally only holds a copy of the factory build so that in emergencies you can boot through that path, rather than the default in BOOT.INI.

It's also possible that by removing that partition you have changed the partition order in the BOOT.INI file so perhaps you can change BOOT.INI to reflect the partition number you need to access the operating system. There are simple tools available to allow you to look at BOOT.INI and confirm the paths it takes.

If you don't mind rebuilding from scratch then use the restore DVD.

Regards,

Brian
