Re: Problem with SBS SP1

Fabio,
Do you use special sp1 for SBS?
Did you install last Proliant support pack (7.40) before windows sp1 installation?
Can you login to server in Safe mode?

Re: Problem with SBS SP1

Thank you IGOR for your reply.

Do you use special sp1 for SBS?
I have 3 cd buy with microsoft, the name is "Service Pack 1 Small Business Server" and have more Service pack for exchange, ISA 2004 ect... The first installation is Service Pack 1 for Windows Server 2003 and the problem is here.

Did you install last Proliant support pack (7.40) before windows sp1 installation?
No I don't have installed Proliant Support Pack 7.4, i have in my server Smart Start 7.10., where is possibile to search this support pack 7.4?

Can you login to server in Safe mode?
No is not possible becouse I have seen the safe mode to the list but when I choose the safe mode, the server restart and is non possible enter in the list and in the safe mode.

Thank you

Re: Problem with SBS SP1

Fabio,
1) Ok, you use right version of sp1
2) You need to install at least 7.30 version of Proliant support pack BEFORE sp1 install
Install last PSP (currently 7.40 version)
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23837.html
Update your server firmware as well:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23331.html

3) If you cannot load windows even in Safe mode try to uninstall sp1 from Recovery console
Look "How to remove Windows XP Service Pack 2 from your computer"
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=875350
see recovery console section.
Even though the article references XP, AFAIK uninstalling by recovery console
should be the same steps for windows 2003
