Problem with system fan on a ML350 Proliant.

Hi,

I own a Proliant ML350, running under Linux. Everything worked fine, until the system fan began some nasty noises. I think it's dying.
Since the room is cold, and since I can ventilate the computer, I'd juste like to remove the fan.
Problem is : without the fan, the system refuses to boot.

Could someone please enlighten me on how I can use the Proliant without the fan ?

I looked at the bios, looked at the support archives, but found nothing. Is there a jumper to tell the system bios to ignore fan errors ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Problem with system fan on a ML350 Proliant.

The server will not start without a fan installed and this is a safety precaution.
If the server is still in warranty, let the fan swap by HP services or else buy a new one.
A Proliant a day keeps the competition away!
