Problems installing OpenServer

Hello.
I'm having problems installing OpenServer 5.0.5 on a ML350 Xeon machine. The boot from CD is fine, the loading of the BTLD (ad160) is fine, but as soon as the blue screen comes up and says "Starting Initial System Load from Floppy Disk" the process stops.

I am using the next bootstrings with the EFS 5.64 Media:

boot:

mem=1m-16m

boot:

defbootstr link=ad160 hd=Sdsk Sdsk=ad160(0,0,0,0) Srom=wd(0,0,0)

All is OK until the message "Starting Initial System load from: Floppy Disk" in a blue screen and the instalation doesn't continue.

Thanks.

If it's a G4, nothing shy of OSR 5.0.7 will work, so don't even bother trying.

OSR 5.0.5 is over 7 years old now. Get something newer.

Re: Problems installing OpenServer

Do not use 5.0.5 on a p4 or xeon.....at a minimum 5.0.6a. 5.0.7 works better....
5.0.5 worked on the G1 and G2 models with PII and PIII's. we had to switch to 5.0.7 when the G3's came along.

i guess i'm too late, hey? i had the same prblem just now on a ML370 G4, and fixed it with (1Gig of RAM, ie 1024m):

boot:
mem=1m-16m,16m-1024m/n
boot:
defbootstr link=ad160 hd=Sdsk Sdsk=ad160(0,0,0,0) Srom=wd(0,0,0)
