Problems with DL380G3 Proliant Server

Hi all, i have installed a new DL380G3 server recently with Win2000SP4 OS. However, i have been getting the following error mesg in my event log,
The system has detected the following event:

SNMP Trap: 6056
System URL: http://NRISVR08:2301/
Date time: 07/06/2004 05:43:25 PM
Computer: NRISVR08
Source: Server Agents
Type: Warning
Category: (4)

Description:

Details:
0
3
Spare Part Number ''
524288
Server System ID 'CPQ0727'

I have installed a hot pluggable tape drive from Compaq and additional RAM that i have purchased from a compaq authorised distributor. So i am really clueless why i keep getting this error whenever i reboot the server.

Another problems is the loud fan noise. I dont seem to be able to reduce the fan noise.

Appreciate any advise for the above 2 problems that i have. Thanks

Re: Problems with DL380G3 Proliant Server

Hi

1)Can i have the Even ID for the above error information under windows event veiwer.

2)Update the BIOS and the proliant support pack for the same server from web.

3) After updation of PSP from web check for sysmgmt under survey.txt on server and revert with the file version of the same.

Re: Problems with DL380G3 Proliant Server

Greetings,

Hi thanks for replying. A check on my server eventlog found out this 2 error,

1) Event ID:1031
Source: Server Agents
Description: Correctable memory error detected has been corrected, but memory module should be replaced.

2) Event ID:4248
Source: Cpqasm2
Description: Memory module #3 has exceeded its threshold of correctable errors. Subsequent correctable memory errors will continue to be corrected.

Based on this 2 info, it seems to me that there is something wrong with the ram that i have installed in DIMM slot 3. I will check on the ram and if possible have it replaced. Thanks

Re: Problems with DL380G3 Proliant Server

Alan,
Before you swap out that memory, what version of the HP Agents are you running? There is a known issue of false correctable memory errors when using 6.x agents.

Hi

I'm also getting this error on one of my servers.

How old is your server?
