Problems with Windows 2008 Server installation on DL 585

Hi, I'm installing the Windows 2008 Server x64 on a Proliant DL 585 G1 with SmartStart 8.25.
I'm following the wizard from SmartStart, but there is a step which we need to put a OS file path. Someone knows what path we should to put?

Try /mount/dvd if it doesn't come up automatically.

There is a smartstart 8.30 that might work better.

did you try to install, the Windows directly from MS dvd ???

OS file path is the location where your actual Windows 2008 Server x64 image is placed. That can be a CDROM, if you wish to install the OS through CD

Thanks for your help. I have tried to install windows 2008 from MS DVD media directly, but the hard disks weren't recognised.

I'm downloading the Smart Start 8,3 right now to try the instalation again.

I have tried to select the path for OS flat files, but I always receive an error message.

Sometimes the problem is that there is both a 32-bit and 64-bit on the Windows DVD, using a media with only one of them fixes the problem.

If win2k8 without smartstart does not find the disks, you can try to load teh drivers manually.

Please also note that R2 is not supported on the DL585 G1.

Has downloads for the DL585.

"HP ProLiant Smart Array 5x and 6x Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003/2008 x64 Editions" should be the one if you have the default 5i disk controller.

I used the Smart Start 8.30 and the Smart Array 5x driver.
