Problems with firmware update 7.70 on ML350 G3
Hi,
I booted from the 7.70 CD and included the SmartArray 641 update (2.74) from floppy. I ticked the box for automatic reboot.
It updated the harddisk firmwares and then rebootet.
Now the screen is black and I see a cursor blinking in the top left corner. And I can see activity on the disks for nearly an hour now.
The firmware updater did not give me any information that this is taking place after reboot.
If I remember my earlier updates, this did not occur.
What is happening here?
Reboot or wait?
Thanks in advance.

Blinking cursor won't take you anywhere
I guess best what you can do power down, pull HDD out (ALL!!!)
From F9 - advanced ├в Clear NVRAM/Boot disk
Restart system let it go up to PXE?
Power Down add all HDD in power up
Logical drive detected?
Blinking Cursor still present?
or
you can try simply restart server it should not have an effect on h. drives

Re: Problems with firmware update 7.70 on ML350 G3
Ok, when I had another look onto the disks, I saw one disk blinking red.
I turned the machine off, on again and the machine seems to be still working. :-)
Again I booted from the 7.70 CD and found that the Smart Array 641 has not been updated to 2.74.
I tried again and it came up with "installation failed", but with no explicit error in the installation log.
I think I'll wait until my replacement harddisk arrives.

Re: Problems with firmware update 7.70 on ML350 G3
Now I tried to upgrade the controller firmware to 2.74 several times without harddisks connected, but everytime the update fails with a red cross and nothing useful but "Return Code: 7" in the log.
Any ideas?
