After adding a processor (recognized in BIOS), How do I tell Windows 2000 about it?

Re: Processor Upgrade
Let me rephrase that: Where can I find a multiprocessor Hal.dll for Windows 2000 for a Compaq Proliant 1600 with two PII 400Mhz processors?

Re: Processor Upgrade
Hello,
You should follow the instructions to configure your system to MultiProcessor installation since W2K has native support for Multi CPU systems. I am sure Microsoft TechNet has information on it. If you are having difficulty locating the How to for Multi CPU systems please feel to Contact our Technical Support by dialing 1-800-652-6672 or Microsoft at 1-800-426-9400.

Re: Processor Upgrade
Hi,
I have the exact same configuration and Windows 2000 did not recognize the 2nd processor until I upgraded the BIOS to the current version, defined the OS to be Windows 2000 via the Configuration Utility (CMOS setting?), and then changed the Computer device in Device Manager from Standard PC to MPS Multiprocessor PC. See MS Knowledge Base Article Q252326.
