Processormodule in a DL580 G3, are the sockets marked?

I will replace a cpu in a DL580 G3 this week, and I wonder if the cpu's sockets are marked 1,2,3 and 4 so there is no doubt about what cpu to change?

the inside of the cover has a "sticker" with enough information to locate the correct socket.
but if you search on www.hp.com/go/support for "DL580 G3" you will link to the rest of the manuals.

Johan,

The attached document should assist you to identify the CPU's and replace them.

I hope this helps.

I got some more questions about this.

I have been told that Slot 1 Socket 0, has a bad CPU to replace.
That should then be place nr.1 to the left of the processormodule if you are standing in front of it.

But when I check now, I can see the LED for Processor 4 is lit outside the module?

Johan,

Often in Compaq and HP Proliant reports Slot 1 socket 0 simply refers to the system board (i.e. an internal fault) it doesn't in your case refer directly to a specific CPU. If you have an amber light against one of the CPU's then change that one and ignore the message from the agents since the hardware fault has been identified by the system checks and BIOS.
