Processors on Proliant ML370 G3.

We have this machine with two processors of 2.8 GHz but in the POST see 2.4 GHZ, in machines with 1 Processor see 2.8 GHZ. In physical view the processor are 2.8 GHz, can you tell me why and if I need apply any update of Firmware or modify setup configuration?

Re: Processors on Proliant ML370 G3.

Hello Alvero,
First of all update the system bios from the following link:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/20_4307.html#4

Please be careful when you update it because depending upon your server's current ROM BIOS i.e. either it is P25 or P28.
Secondly, if this does not fix the issue then try your server with one CPU only. Are these original CPUs?? If you added the second CPU lateron then the stepping could be different between them. Please let us know as to how do you make out.

Re: Processors on Proliant ML370 G3.

Well, the problem has been present and detected when I verify the label in the bottom of the processor, the reference in the second processor are 2400DP/512L2/400/1.50V.

I will be proceed to change this processor.

Thanks.

Alvaro.
