Prolaint 4500
I have a machine old Serving model of the Compaq Prolaint 4500. This machine posses 4 records being one of 4.3 GB and Three of 2.1 (Array). However during the installation of the Windows 2000 it only recognizes two records the first one of 4.3 GB and as of 2.1. The others two records do not recognize. Remembering that in the start of the machine the records are starts without error. What I can make to resover this probleman.

Re: Prolaint 4500
What is the RAID configuration of the three 2GB hard drives ?
RAID 5 = 4 GB available disk space
RAID 1 + Hotspare = 2GB available disk space
RAID 0 = 6 GB available space
So depending on the RAID configuration what you see might be normal.

Re: Prolaint 4500
But you do have a Smart Array controller ? If yes then there should be a message during system self test.
You can run Array Configuration Utility (ACU) from SmartStart CD just boot from the SmartStart CD or from hard disk.
To run ACU from SmartStart CD just boot from the CD. If the system already is configured then you'll get a menu where you can run system setup, ACU and some other tools.
To install ACU on the hard drive download this:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/14185.html
BTW drivers and tools for Proliant 4500 and Win200 can be downloaded here:
