Prolaint Memory (seperate SKU between AMD & Intel)
I was looking into to moving some memory between two our systems. A ProLiant DL385P (AMD) and a ProLiant DL380p, both generation 8.
The DL385P was using 672633-B21
HP 16GB (1x16GB) Dual Rank x4 PC3-12800R (DDR3-1600) Registered CAS-11 Memory
Kit
The DL380P is using 647899-B21
HP 8GB (1x8GB) Single Rank x4 PC3-12800R (DDR3-1600) Registered CAS-11
Memory Kit
So the part numbers don't show up on each respectives quickspecs sheets. If I dig into the general HP Smart Memory quickspecs sheet.

I find the following in the FAQ section.
Product documentation
Will there be unique part numbers for Intel and AMD supported HP ProLiant servers?
HP has different part numbers for AMD and Intel servers because there are slight timing differences in the memory controllers which can lead to different list of qualified parts.
Looking at the general memory specs it looks like it should work but apparently HP has differentiated here. Anyone have any experience with this (Good or Bad)?

Re: Prolaint Memory (seperate SKU between AMD & Intel)
AMD and Intel Memory Part# are different.
Please use correct Memory Part# for AMD or Intel based DL Server.
I would not suggest to use Intel based Gen8 memory for AMD based Gen8 Server and vice versa.
