Prolian DL380 G4 Audible Alarm, No POST
We bought a DL 380 G4 in August 2006 and we've been using it to run web applications. In Dec 2007 it just stopped. On attempts to reboot it, the server just reads the DVD Rom and gives an audible alarm, then it just stops with a continuous audible alarm that intermittently stops for a second. All the LEDs show that everything is fine, i.e. they are all green , even the internal ones. Anyone who can assist us it resolving this and are the parts still under warranty as we ought from one of the local HP brand suppliers.

Re: Prolian DL380 G4 Audible Alarm, No POST
Hello Tebza,
Your Description of the issue indicates, the POST was complete, Controllers/HDD detected fine. Is the Boot COntroller Order & the Boot Order set Correctly ??? If so, Could you disconnect the DVD ROM Drive & try booting ?
Is there any Amber/Orange LED on the system board ?? You Could also try resetting the NVRAM using the System maintenace Switch SW1 on the system board.
:) Regards.

Re: Prolian DL380 G4 Audible Alarm, No POST
I would say that it is a piece of hardware that is either bad or a bad connection. Try reseating the CPU, VRM, memory and Power Supplies. If there are 2 of anything remove one. Then swap them. Without having parts to swap in, it is hard to find a failed piece. Is the Warranty gone? If no result, could be the systemboard has a problem.
Hot Swap Hard Drives
