i have a ProLiant 1200 here that i don't know what happened to the power supply. I got it from an auction.
It worked OK for two days, and suddenly it powered off and i never saw it work again. The power supply clicks ramdomly, i suspect that is the problem. Could it also be the power switch? i got a 5v reading from that P5 connector. The PS fuse is OK.
How can i be sure that the Power Supply is good?
i found a 325W power supply from a PL1600, can it work on the 1200? it's the 250975-001.
Thanks!!

SolutionUsually if the power Supply fan is spinning when you plug it in then it's not the PS. Have you tried plugging in into a different outlet?? The P/N for the PS for PL1200 is 149011-001. If the connector for the PS from PL1600 is the same then there is no harm connecting it.

Re: Proliant 1200 Power Supply
Just make sure that the connector is alright and you should be able to use it.
