Proliant 1600 500mhZ
Everthing working except the video and network drivers. I have to use a PCI card for the NIC and I would like to use the embedded NIC. The video seems to be a Cirrus Logic GD5446 and I can find no reference at the Compaq website.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Proliant 1600 500mhZ
The ProLiant 1600 is not supported on Windows Server 2003. This is primarily because the 1600 lacks certain features that were part of Microsoft'w cert criteria for WS03 like ACPI.
You can access more documentation on the 1600 from http://wwww.hp.com/servers/proliant --> Discontinued Products and select 'ProLiant 1600' from the drop-down for ProLiant Servers.

Re: Proliant 1600 500mhZ
I have had some success (but I haven't done a Proliant 1600) using WIN2K drivers. See:

Make a great day!

Re: Proliant 1600 500mhZ
I tried this a couple of months ago, using a Proliant 1600 500 MHz. I was testing out a disaster recovery scenario on this old server and an ML370. I have to say that I got some odd results: sometimes the Server 2003 install would work and the server appear to run. Other times the installation would just stall.
In the end I could not trust the results so went over to installing Win2k Server on this box.
