Proliant 1600 Event ID 4209

I am getting an Event ID 4209 from Source SysMgmt:

The Compaq System Management Driver has detected that the system encountered a Non-Maskable Interrupt (NMI) prior to this boot. The NMI source was: Uncorrectable memory error, socket 2.

I am replacing this server in 3 weeks and am wondering if anyone has run into this and has a workaround or a solution other than replacing the memory. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Proliant 1600 Event ID 4209

First of all upgrade server BIOS. If error still exists:
Hmmm, this look like bad memory or bad slot on the system plane. :((
1. Shutdown the system and power cycle the machine. Turn it back on and run the compaq tools (F10 at boot) and run a memory test. If memory is reported bad move to next step.
2. Remove memory from Slot1 and replace with slot 2. Run compaq tools (F10 at boot). If memory reports error again, the slot is bad. Get tech to replace system plane, possibly the mother board. Can also run the machine without memory in slot #1.
3. If no error is found on new memory in slot#1. The memory stick is bad and should be replaced.

Hi Matthew D. Boehm ,

After replaced the memory, are you facing system hanging issues.could you check the memory slot led's (glooming amper color).

if it is both are not happening, the replaced part are good no hardware trouble found, could open the IML(INSIGHT MANAGEMENT LOG)-LOG and select the all memory error's and click error correctable tap then once again restart the system after the IML ERROR CORRECTION. the problem got solved.
