Proliant 1600 Power problems

Hi.
I have a proliant 1600 that I'm trying to upgrade from a single P2-350 to dual P3-550's. Every time I turn on the server (with the 550's) the computer will power up for about 55 seconds, then power off, and power back up for another 55 seconds. It continues to do the same thing untill I unplug it. When I remove the secondary VRM, and put the 350 back in, everything works fine. I have tried to update the ROM, and still nothing. I've tried changing CPU's (secondary for primary, to check for failed CPU's) and tried the 550's in a Proliant 1850R with out any issues.

Have you changed the system board as well?? If not here is what you need:

Note 1: To Upgrade 400-MHZ, 450-MHz, or 500-MHZ models to the 550-MHz or 600-MHz or when upgrading a 550-MHz to the 600-MHz model, installation of an additional Thermal Upgrade Option Kit (144003-B22) is required. Failure to install this kit when upgrading may cause damage to the server and will void the warranty.
The spare part no for both PII350 and PIII550 as well as the VRMs is different as well. FYI the Spares Nos are as follows:
System I/O Board, PCI, (Pentium III 550MHz, only)
Processor Power Module (500-600)-329267-001
Thermal Upgrade Kit 161144-001

Please stick with the OPTION part nos because the kit contains everything (Processor & VRM only). Obviously you need a different system board.

So I need to replace the CPU board as well? Hmmm... Is this a revision issue because I have an earlier model?
