Proliant 1600 Processor fan

Hello, I have a Proliant 1600 Dual P3-500 that seems to have a bad processor cage fan. It continuously spins up and down while the server reboots again and again.

All the documentation I can find only gives a part number for the entire processor cage, but not the fan. Does anyone happen have the part number for the fan? Or at least the pinout of the four-pin connector it plugs into so I can replace it with a standard 120mm?

Thank you very much for your assistance. :)

Re: Proliant 1600 Processor fan

Thank you. This is all I found in that document:

"20 Processor Board, Dual SCSI, with Cage and Fan (ProLiant 1600 only) 149089-001".

There's also a newer PDF here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/UCR/SupportManual/TPM_179480-001_rev3_us/TPM_179480-001_rev3_us.pdf

Same deal there though:

"14 Processor Board, Dual SCSI, with Cage and Fan 313622-001"

Re: Proliant 1600 Processor fan

Yes, I could do that. But I really don't need the whole assembly. It would sure be more convenient to get a part number for just the fan, or at least a means to substitute a regular 120mm.

Again, thanks for your help. :)

Re: Proliant 1600 Processor fan

If you look at the back of the fan it should have the manufacturer and there part number. Compaq used Nidec quite a bit. You could measure the fan and compare it to what is on ebay.

But look for the label on the fan. Good Luck.

Re: Proliant 1600 Processor fan

Hi,

It's not well documented but the Proliant 1600 fan assembly is Compaq spare part number 122633-001.
http://partsurfer.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/showphoto?partnumber=122633-001

You can order it from HP Partsurfer here for $44 US.

http://partsurfer.hp.com
Select your country from the drop-down box and enter 122633-001 in the "By Part Number" box and click the lookup icon beside it.
You will see from the resultant screen that it's a component part of all Proliant 1600's, 800's and a few others.

It's also a basic Nidec TA450DC model fan so give Ebay a try if you prefer not to spend as much as $44 from HP Partsurfer.
www.ebay.com enter TA450DC for your search.
You should be able to get one for less than the HP price.

I hope this helps.
