Proliant 1600 - W2k won't recognize second processor
I am running the latest bios and the POST recognizes the second processor. When I check in Windows it shows "Standard PC". I've tried changing the driver to MPS but then the server locks up on boot up.

Re: Proliant 1600 - W2k won't recognize second processor
Did you run setup and enable multiprocessor mode there ?
If you do a SmartStart installation of Win2K this should happen automatically.
If you did a manual installation boot from system partition, press CTRL-A to enable advanced options, then run system setup and there change APIC mode.

Best thing is to run a system erase and allow SmartStart to configure everything automatically. That way all settings will match and will be correct.

Re: Proliant 1600 - W2k won't recognize second processor
Thanks for the responses. I forgot to set the OS to Win2k. Once I set that the system came up and recognized the second processor. Thanks again for the help.
