Proliant 1600 boot order with new IDE card added

Hello,

I have installed a new IDE card for performance and capacity increase.

However, I can not boot my system if my IDE drive is attached to this new IDE controller card. It is because system first tries to boot from this new card, but my OS is installed on SCSI drive. IDE drive is just for storage.

I could not see where to change the boot order in the SmartStart settings.

Is it possible to boot from SCSI in my configuration without doing anything on IDE controller card? I'm searching on their side if it is possible to disable boot strap on this controller, too.

Btw, Card is DIGITUS 32 Bit PCI 2.1 ATA 133 RAID Controller Card. DCST-ATA133 RAID is their inventory code.

Thank you.

This is common. Simple IDE always assumes it is the boot device.
The device needs to have the ability built in to remove itself from the Bootstrap, but this is not the case most of the time.
We always suggest to users here to buy a good quality IDE card, their BIOS usually has a configuration utility. You should look for one with support dicumentation online, like Adaptec, so you can read the spec before you buy, and see if the card can be configured.
