Proliant 1600 raid array

I have purchased a proliant 1600 with raid controller.
I have no smartstart cd and need to know how to configure it as it does not detect drives.
Can anyone help?

Hello Mark,
Just download System configuration Utility from the following link to configure your system:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/13227.html

You would need four diskettes for that and just cold boot the system with the first diskette.

I have booted up with the config disk1 and when I try to configue raid controller I am asked for the raid controller disk1 - where can I get these disks?

Hello Mark,
Unfortunately you wont be able to create Raid without the Smart Start CD which can be ordered by calling 1-800-573-1099. Please request for version 5.50.

Which array controller do you have in the machine? If it's a 3200 or 4200, then it'll definitely require the use of a smart start cd to configure the controller. If it's an earlier controller (2/p, 2/dh, etc.) then you should be able to configure it with SP6263:

If it's a 431 or later controller then you should be able to configure it with the ORCA (F8).
