i took all the ram sticks out (all but one) and reinserted the cage back into the machine.. cables look okay, i tucked them in just for the sake of doing it.. what do you mean by pci devices, you mean even mouse and keyboard..

i am powering it on in the following condition
s6 back to normal, hard drives pulled out and mouse/keyboard pulled out, no cd or floppy..

PCI as in any peripheral cards installed in the I/O cage, such as a Network Interface Card or a SmartArray Controller.

but there is a slight problem here.. my server connects to device that makes the smae monitor available to multiple machines.. if i dont use mouse keyboard it does not let me see..

in the pci slots i just have an ethernet care 10/100 slotted in..(which was loose a little bit or may be i am just seeing things)..should i pull it out
