Proliant 1600

My Proliant 1600 will boot up if I unhook the P5 cable, but when I plug it in all I get is the power starts to go on for half a second and then shuts off this just keeps happening if I leave the power button on. When I unplug P5 it seems to power up fine. I'm not quite sure what the P5 does, do I need this plugged in and any idea why it would keep me from booting up?
Thanks,

Re: Proliant 1600

Frank:

If P5 connector is failed, you should replace the power supply as it is likely just getting weak:
