First post here, but have learned ALOT from reading, thanks much for the help!
Now..
I have a Proliant 1600R dual 400 PII, currently running 2 - 128 MB dimms for 256 MB. I have 1 - 1GB PC100 ECC Reg CL2 dimm I would like to put in place of those for a total of 1 GB. So far I have not been able to get this to work. According to Compaq's webpage 4 - 256MB Dimms are required for 1GB total but it also states "not all possible memory configurations displayed."
So, before I rack my brains at this anymore I thought I would post here and see if it is even a possible configuration.
Thanks!!

Re: Proliant 1600R and 1GB RAM
Terribly sorry, I should have put some more details:
When I install the dimm and turn the server on it won't post, no display, no nothing.
I have the most up to date bios, drivers, and support paq's
Thanks,
Corey Olivieri

Solution
Hello corey,
Here is what you need:
Memory
Description Option Part#
64-MB 100-MHz Registered ECC SDRAM Memory Kit 313614-B21
128-MB 100-MHz Registered ECC SDRAM Memory Kit 313615-B21
256-MB 100-MHz Registered ECC SDRAM Memory Kit 313616-B21
You do need 4x256MB otherwise it wont work.
Cheers,
