Proliant 1600R won't power on, please help.

Okay, I have a proliant 1600r with dual 450s, I was running nt and I decided to rebuild it with 2k. I ran the system erase utility in smartstart and then powered it off. Then I decided to add ram, it had 384, one 128 in slot one and a 256 in slot 2. I put a 256 in slot 3 and 4. I slid the processor carridge back in and now nothing works. The insight management display blinks once about every thirty seconds on the front of the server, that is it. I went back to just the original memory, same thing, I reseated everything, same problem. This server has three power supplies, when I plug them in the fans in the power supply spin, that it it. I push the power button and no fans turn on, the power leds don't light up, no hd leds, no cdrom leds, no nothing. I am at a loss here and I really need to get this machine up. Is the IMD blinking every thiry seconds some kind of diag code? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tim

Tim:

Pull the processor cage back out and take a look inside the hole to see the Power Backplane Board. Make sure that all the cables leading to it are firmly connected and that no cable has been cut or kinked.

Attached is an image of the board...
Enjoy!

Ok, well I took out the second processor and the power converter that went with it, server powered right on. Anyone have any ideas what to do now? Is there any kind of issue with the 1600 only wanting to come up with one processor after a system erase? I stuck in another processor cage with two 450s into this machine and it did the same thing, wouldn't power on, take second proc out and bamn powers on right away. Any ideas anyone?

What is the Spare Part Number listed on the Processor Power Module?
Enjoy!

Do you mean the 5v power adapter for the processor?

Thanks,

Re: Proliant 1600R won't power on, please help.

Yes...

There are two versions of the PPM:

http://partsurfer.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/showphoto?partnumber=327660-001
and
http://partsurfer.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/showphoto?partnumber=329267-001

Make sure the new PPM you have matches the PPM of the first processor. I am fairly certian you need (327660-001) the 14Amp PPM.
Enjoy!
