Proliant 1850R 6/400

I have a Proliant 1850R 6/400. I see inside the case that it can support up to 2 x PII 450 CPUs.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get the motherboard to support anything better, and what would the best CPU I could get in it be? Would like to hear from anyone who has pushed one further!

Cheers

Re: Proliant 1850R 6/400

Hello Mark,
You can go upto 500MHZ and here is the part no for the Motherboard & CPU:

System I/O Board without Processor - for 500MHz systems and below 333110-001

Pentium III 500MHz Processor with Heatsink 114525-001

The Kit for upgrade is as follows:

500 MHz Pentium III 512K Processor Option Kit 401268-B21

Sunil,

Many thanks for your reply.

Just to be clear, to support a PIII, are you saying that I would need to change the motherboard?

Do you know what the best processor the standard 6/400 motherboard will support is?

Cheers
