Proliant 1850R Can't find SCSI drives

Have a used Compaq Proliant 1850R with 3 9.1 Gig Ultra2 scsi harddrives. The machine was working fine (running windows 2000) but I decided to update the bios (current bios was 2 years old).

The bios install ran smoothly, no errors occured. I then shut down. At this point I took out my SCSI harddrives (one at a time, just checking to make sure their release mechanisms worked). I then restarted the machine and the SCSI drives no longer found. No lights go on on the drives, and they are not spinning up.

The Compaq Configuration Utility shows my Wide-Ultra SCSI controller enabled on port 1.

I may be missing something simple here since I am unfamliar with this particular peice of Compaq hardware.

Re: Proliant 1850R Can't find SCSI drives

When using the Compaq Array Configuration Utility I get an error that it can not detect any array controllers in my system. It give me this error and then leaves the utility.
