Using an assisted install will not work on a Win2000 upgrade.
I would recommend going to:
http://h18001.www1.hp.com/partners/microsoft/windows2000/whitepapers.html
At this page get the whitepaper titled "Upgrading to Microsoft Windows 2000 on x86 Servers". Then follow each one of the steps listed. The primer utility described in the document can be obtained by typing "primer" into the search bar on the top of the web page.
