Proliant 1850r Memory problems

I am trying to upgrade the memory in my 1850. The memory I am using came out of an 8500 and is labeled 256MB, SYNCH, 100Mhz, CL2, ECC. The machine will not boot. Does nothing. From the specs, this memory should work, but it does not. Any help appreciated

Hello Darren,
The memory for both the server is different. Just for your information the replacement P/Ns are as follows:
PL1850 - 256MB : 317749-001
PL8500 - 256MB : 146489-001

PL8500 has CAS Latency 2 whereas PL1850R runs on regular SDRAM. Result incompatibility.
