I have a compaq 1850r. I put the 9.1 gb drives in and turn on the server and server not booting, the CD ROM drive LED is blinking, no display. Any suggestions

Hello John,
Installation of a HDD should not prevent the server from booting. Just reseat the RAM, CPU and any boards which may not be sitting in securely. Also check for any loose cables as well.

Ihave the same issue. I have a Proliant 1850r 550 cpu,2 9.1 hard drives,128 Megs of ram.
It was working fine and then I started getting Blue Screens on a windows 2000 Advanced server.
I have tried resetting cpu,memory,adapters but it dot fix the issue.
When I turned on the server I here the fan come on the HArd drive leds and CD-rom led come on but the Hard drive,Act and Link leds on the front panel won't come on. And also no display.
Help!

Hi,

SW1 is a six-position switchbank
6 Clear NVRAM Clears Non-Volatile RAM, erase hardware configuration ONLY. So make the server offline make it on the 6th number switch then power on the server. Just trying out out the way.
