Proliant 3000 Drive Array Disk

I have a ProLiant 3000 set up with RAID 5 and Windows Server 2000. I have 2 18.2GB and 2 9.1GB drives. It sees the two 9.1GB drives as the same and I can't figure out how to make it recognize them as separate physical drives and unmirror them.

Also I need to know where I can get the Drive Array Advanced DIagnostics, DA Configuration, and System Configuration disks. I don't know where the originals went but they were gone before I started working here.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

Jennifer,
You can find all software for Proliant 3000 here:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/20_1112.html

You can install Proliant support pack - it includes all software you need - Array configuration utility as well.

Regarding System Configuration disks - you can use SmartStart 5.50 CD:

or Compaq System Configuration Utility diskettes:

That helped me find most of the downloads I needed, but not the Drive Array Configuration disk.
Thank you.

I think you mean array configuration utility? Array configuration utility is part of SmartStart 5.50 CD - it is bootable CD (see link in my previous response)
If you already have windows 2000 installed you can use HP ProLiant Array Configuration Utility for Windows (part of the Proliant support pack)
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/18819.html
or old (not web-based) version of Compaq Array Configuration Utility for Windows http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/14185.html

Re: Proliant 3000 Drive Array Disk

Hi Jennifer,

The Drive Array Advanced Diagnostics (DAAD) has been replaced by the Array Diagnostic Utility (ADU) for some time now.

Here is a note on this: -
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=PSD_EX981106_CW01

The latest ADU is available from here.
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/15125.html

I hope this helps.

Re: Proliant 3000 Drive Array Disk

Jennifer,

I should clarify that the ADU link I sent you is the 32-bit application version which runs in Windows 2000 etc.

The Product Support Pack (PSP) also includes a GUI based ADU which you can install and use with Internet Explorer. They will both work and you can have both installed on a system if you have a preference for using the older version.

Regards,

Brian

Re: Proliant 3000 Drive Array Disk

I do have the SmartStart 5.5 CD, but it keeps asking for the Drive Array Configuration Disk.

I think the main problem is in the array controller or the SCSI controller because it boots into Windows fine off the SCSI drive, but it insists there are no SCSI devices.

Thank you both for your help and suggestions.
