Proliant 3000 not recognizind Sony DVD burner
I am trying to install a Sony DRU-500 to use as a dvd backup on a proliant 3000. i am replacing the factory cdrom. The server will not boot to the DVD nor will it read any media in it. Device manager shows it as "SD". I have uipdated machine firmware to P09 - any other ideas ?

Derek,
Do you have the drive jumper set to CS?
This is "Cable Select" which is the norm for Proliant G1's.
Master/Slave settings don't often work.

BIOS needs to recognize Sony DVD burner first before use and check the CD-ROM boot enable from BIOS setup.
