Proliant 3000 processors

Hello,
i have a Compaq Proliant 3000, with 2 processors running @ 333 mhz, no i have a new processor @ 450 mhz, but when i put it in the motherboard, he still gives hes running @ 333mhz, now is mube question, must the both processors have the same speed, or must i change the jumper configuration? and where could i find it?. in advance thanks for the aid

Yes, both processors must be the same speed.

The system board in the PL3000 6/333 server supports either 300 mhz or 333 mhz processors and also requires EDO memory. The system board for the 400 mhz processors and up requires SDRAM. I'm actually surprised you were able to get the 450 mhz processor to even show up as a 333, since it shouldn't work at all with that processor.

So i cant upgrade the processors of this type of server?

You can, but it's going to require replacing at least the processors, system board, PPMs and memory.

thanks for the reply, i think i should then buy a new server becasue its difficult i think to get the right pieces, and it is expensive i think
