Proliant 360 G7 Break Drive Mirror

I have a Proliant DL 360 G7 Running Red Hat Linux 6.2.  What is the best way to break the drive mirror (0+1) for the OS Drive mirror (drives 0 & 1)?   I have read to shut the system down & remove the drive and F2 at boot to fail out the drive.

What are the best practices for breaking the Raid 1 OS mirror to remove a "good" drive and replace it with an empty one and have the new one rebuild the OS Mirror?
