Proliant 5000 CPU Problem

We have Proliant server 5000 with 4 Pentium Pro 200 CPUs. After we installed Windows 2003, it only one CPU graphic can be viewed by Task manager.

So in this case, is four CPU working properly or just one. We can see BIOS recognized 4 CPUs at start era.

Thank you

Re: Proliant 5000 CPU Problem

Hi
Can you check in taskmanager wheather the multi cpu history garph is enabled or not.just click in view -cpu history-onegraph per cpu. then you can see multiple graph for multiple cpu.before that make sure that the windows is dectuting 4 cpu while booting in the blue screen ,while loading kernal

On Task Manager -> View -> CPU History -> One Graphic Per CPU is gray. I cannot switch to Multi-processors graphic model

Re: Proliant 5000 CPU Problem

Hello kamal,

I did what you told me in the previous message.
1. Set operating system to Windows 2000
2. Set ACPI to Full Tabled Mapped.

However, my Windows enterprise 2003 server still recognizes only one CPU.

Re: Proliant 5000 CPU Problem

driver update for divice manager.

check your kernel.

update multi processor kernel.

Re: Proliant 5000 CPU Problem

Hello,

I copied halmacpi.dll and rename to hal.dll from I386/driver.cab to Windows/System32. However, this action causes my computer hung up from Windows boot up. I am not sure if my Proliant 5000 is ACPI Multiprocessor or MPS Multiprocessor.

Thank you
