Proliant 5000 Powerup
I have a Proliant 5000 server that will not power up. I have check all the power connections and it seem that after I closed the front panel there is power for about .5 sec then nothing.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Proliant 5000 Powerup
If the power supply starts up and then quickly dies, you probably have a short somewhere...
Open the case and (while it is plugged in and off) look for any of the amber LED's lit on the system-interlock and system-interconnect LED's. You can start your diags there...
G'luck

Re: Proliant 5000 Powerup
If this is an important box that needs to be up right now....
There is a large blue cable that runs from the power supply and plugs into the system board. Unplug it at the sys board and it should power up.
I don't recommend running it for an extended period of time as it bypasses some of the protection circuitry built into the server. However it will minimize downtime until you can get the power supply replaced.
