Any one know if the resolution can be upgraded on the motherboard with out installing a video card? I can go upto 1024x768 but it will only give me 16 bit color no higher. Using Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
Also, when I use the task manager to view the CPU Usage History, I only get a single view. I have 4 200Mhz processors on the server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks, JTLS

Solution
Hi there, and welcome to the problem! I can help with the video, partly - you do need to add a card to get rid of those awful 16 colours. Today I installed an old Matrox Mystique card into my 5000, after making sure the internal video was disabled, and I now have 1024x768 in 16-bit/64K colours, with 24-bit/16.7 million colours available.
As to the cpus - I have the exact same problem, and should have noticed your post quicker! I have tried installing Server, and Advanced Server, to no avail. I *did* have it working on 3 processors, until I put in the fourth, and upgraded the drives. No matter what I do now, I have only one cpu apparently active, and the Device manager lists the machine as a Standard PC.

Re: Proliant 5000 Video Driver/CPU Usage
Hi Gang,
Go into Device Manager and under Computer, what does it say?
Uni or Multi?
Also in the F10 partition and Advanced mode, what does it say for APIC mode?

Re: Proliant 5000 Video Driver/CPU Usage
Hi guys, and the answer turned out to be simple, for me anyway!
Used latest SCU, v2.58. Previously have chosen 'other' as OS. Wrong!
Choose Windows NT. Press 'enter', and bingo! a selection for Windows 2000!
Select that and carry on to install. All 4 cpus present and correct.
Wow, did I bang my head over that!
