Proliant 5000

I am assisting a friend with a server. I know nothing about COMPAQ. He has 4 SCSI drives and when configuring it appears that he ill have 4 seperate drives. It when booting says SCSI COntroller and detects all 4 drives. Is there a UTILITY to join all the drives in a RAID? 0 would be fine just to make all 4 drives 2 drive partitions would be lovely..

Thanks in advance..

Re: Proliant 5000

Hi Brad,

the onboard SCSI controller of a Proliant does not have any RAID functionality. If you have a Smart Array controller, you could connect the hard disks to that, and then configure them for RAID. But in your current config, only software RAID would be possible (OS-based)
