Proliant 5500 - Multiproc HAL's do not work on Windows Server 2003
Ive been trying for a couple of weeks now to install Windows Server 2003 Enterprise with a multiprocessor HAL but to no sucsess. The Standard PC Hal works fine. Ive tryed the MPS Multiprocessor, MPS Uniprocessor, ACPI Multiprocessor, ACPI Uniprocessor, Standard PC & ACPI PC. The whole lot. If anyone has any suggestion or reason why it's not working or if there is a HP/Compaq HAL that I should have downloaded, please let me know as i have 24 days untill I need to activate it. Im reluctant to activate it untill all 4 processors are recognised. Here are the specs if anyone needs them:
5 x 9.1GB Ultra2 SCSI HDD's,
Compaq SMART-2DH Array Controller,
4 x Intel P3 500Mhz Xeon Processors (1Mb Cache),
1GB EDO RAM
If you need any more info, let me know.
I setup the server using the SmartStart 5.5 CD & the BIOS version is P12 (?/?/2000)

Re: Proliant 5500 - Multiproc HAL's do not work on Windows Server 2003
I have now fixed the problem after doing some more rooting around on the forums. I changed the OS in the SCU to Windows 2000 & used the MCP Multiproc Kernel and it works. APIC just crashes the install when it start windows.
