Proliant 5500 P12 CPU Upgrade
Hello,
I own a Compaq Proliant 5500 Quad XEON PII 450 machine.
It is fully loaded, and I would like to know what processor speed upgrades are available for this model. Officially it looks like the machine supports (4) 550 PIII CPU's.
I've read on the internet (www.deja.com) that some folks have installed 700Mhz XEON processors in these computers.
I know that the voltage for the 450's, 550's and 700's are all 2.8V and the FSB is 100Mhz.
Will 700Mhz processors work, and if so what are the DIP seitch settings since they are not documented anywhere over 550MHZ.
Thanks in advance!
