Im having a problem with my Proliant 5500, When I attempt to turn on the Server, All fans turn on, the Diagnostic LEDS are off, One is green, the one near the CPU Frequency Selector. Immediatly upon pressing the power button I hear two long beeps and then nothing, the Server continues to just blow air.

Solution
there could be many reasons for this issue.I suspect its the memory or array controller.
Turn the server OFF completely.unplug the Powersupply. Reseat the memory modules and any PCI cards.
while you r trying the above steps make sure you have the external devices like keyboard, mouse monitor disconnected(if any connected).all the best

Re: Proliant 5500 Post/Beep
From the Proliant Servers Troubleshooting guide:
Beeps Only, 2 Long
Audible Beeps: 2 long
Possible Cause: No valid memory is present in the system.
Action:
If no memory modules are present, install at least one memory module to
conform to minimum hardware configuration specifications.
Reseat all installed memory modules.
If the server contains more than one memory module, remove one module,
and restart the server. Repeat as needed to isolate the bad memory module.
Replace any failed modules.

Re: Proliant 5500 Post/Beep
Thanks to everyone who replied, you were of great help. I pressed the Memory Board into the slot harder and it fixed the problem.
